Among the greatest Godly leaders mentioned in the Bible are also the greatest failures as fathers. That seems like an impossible paradox. How can a man be great in his relationship with God while he is an utter failure in his home? But the mystery of truth is that such paradoxes do happen.
Most regular Bible readers do not know that the mark of the Beast has already shown its first appearance in some places. Perhaps most of them thought, like I did until I read a certain news a short while ago, that this mark would be imposed suddenly, someday in the future, after the appearance of the Beast.
I wonder if there is a more disputed, a more misunderstood subject in Christianity than Faith. Perhaps Grace and Law may be a more discussed and more disagreed on subject, but Faith is certainly the most important and the most consequential of ununderstood and misunderstood subjects among Christians.
Some years ago, I sat down to counsel a middle-aged man whom I have known since his boyhood. He confessed to me that no matter how instantaneously he put certain vile temptations out his mind during his waking hours, when he was asleep filthy scenes ran riot in his dreams, and, overwhelming his desire to flee from the filthy scenes, he almost always found himself indulging in the sinful acts his subconscious mind conjured up.
Observant Bible believers have noticed the dramatic increase in supernatural events reported around the world. Sightings of UFOs by men in positions of government authority and abduction claims by many other people of credible reputation have been around for some decades. But in recent years the phenomenon of alien sightings has intensified to the extent that both the Catholic church and the US government have begun to admit not just the possibility but the probability of contact with aliens.
The far-right politics refers to the social movement that ‘supports supremacy of certain individuals or groups deemed to be innately superior who are to be more valued than those deemed to be innately inferior’. The most extreme-right movements, such as the Nazis, have pursued oppression and genocide against groups of people on the basis of their alleged inferiority.
I remember reading Billy Graham’s book ‘World Aflame’, when I was a young man, about the coming judgment of God on earth. I don’t remember now what he wrote of America, but I have with me the following quote of his wife, Ruth, who after reading a chapter in that book about the extremely sinful life of the people, told her husband: “Billy, if God doesn’t come soon and bring judgment upon the United States, He’s going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!”
This 1960s song was a world hit, and is probably the most loved song among Presley’s fans. Perhaps people everywhere, at some point in their lives, could feel their own heart resonating with the emotions so poignantly conveyed through this song by The King, as the singer is admiringly known among his fans.
I wish this message was directed only to couples who do not know Christ and his teachings. But sadly, this message is meant for people who consider themselves Christians and who are confident their marriage is on the right track but who do not yet have the understanding of certain marriage-destroying acts that they may be practicing in their private lives.
The passionate love that a person had for their spouse when they married can wane within a few years, or after many years, to the point that it becomes an emotionless relationship – unless it is deliberately kept aflame continuously. This is a most vital truth that every person planning to marry, or already married, should keep foremost in their consciousness.
